These chants are intended to be used when collecting magical items. It is an old pagan belief to give back to the earth, when collecting from it. What we give back can be something small, I usually use nickels. I do this at all times when I am collecting from nature something that I need. Not just for ritual purpose only. I have used it when camping to build a fire or to collect wood to help build.
