Lammas or Lugnasad
The first of three harvests on the Wheel of the Year, Lammas is a cross-quarter day, which means it falls directly in between two astrological/astronomical Holidays -- in this case in between the Midsummer Solstice and the Autumnal Equinox. This is a time to contemplate your own personal harvest and give thanks. For anybody who knows how to bake bread, this is the day to do it! We all celebrate the harvest with seasonal vegatables and whole grains. If you don't bake, buy the most delicious whole grain bread you can find and share it with friends. |
